The cigarette (3) pack comprises a rectangular outer cover (1) and an inner container (6), which can be slidably moved out of the cover. The cover has five closed side panels and one open side (2) which is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the cigarettes. The free edges (4) of the two opposite closed panels, bounding the open side, are provided with cut-outs (5). The cover may have the free edge of a side panel without cut-out connected to the inner container via a fold line (7). The inner container may consist of a further enclosure (8) and a slidable wrapper (9) and may have a cut-out (10), via which the wrapper can be pushed outwards.
