PURPOSE:To promote the resistivity against separation, the durability, the resistivity against abrasion, and other capacities in a pneumatic radial tire by uaing a code layer constructed by burying an open-twisted steel code with a specific ductility and twisting pitch into rubber with a specific modulus for a belt. CONSTITUTION:A code is constructed of four or five filaments into an open-twisted steel code of 0.2-0.7% ductility and 8-16mm. twisting pitch when the code is given 5.0kg load for each. This code is buried into rubber of 30-70kg/cm<2> in 100% modulus to form an open steel code layer. This code layer in used for a belt to surround the periphery of a carcass crown part of a radial structure. This construction permits to obtain the open-twisted steel code layer in which filaments are prevented from sticking close to each other, the promote the separation-resistivity, the durability, the abrasion-resistivity, and the comfortableness to ride.
