<p>High-boiling 8-60 (10-36) C epoxides, (I), contg. 1-6 (1-4) epoxide gps. and having b.pt. above 120 (above 160) deg.C, are used as solvents for acrylic- or methacrylic acid ester polymerisation. In addn. to solvent (I), the total batch contains 15-85 (30-75)% of the polymerisable substance. Polymer soln. use as lacquer auxiliaries, e.g. flow control agents, is claimed. In (I), polymerisation takes place at a constant temp., e.g. 80-90 deg.C. Temp. rises, leading to crosslinking and wide mol. wt. distribution, are avoided. In lacquers, (I) can act as reactive diluents.</p> |
