PURPOSE:To prevent overflow of dew water, by a method wherein dew water forming on a heater exchanger in a body situated in a ceiling and dew water forming on the exterior plate of a body are received by the main and the auxiliary drain pans of a decorative panel to drain it to the outside of a building. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner comprised a body 6 provided in a vent passage 5 with a heat exchanger 3, situated in a ceiling 1, and a fan 4, and a decorative panel 9, situated to the body 6 in a state to be exposed from the under surface of the ceiling and provided with a suction port 7 and a discharge port 8 communicating with the vent passage 5. The decorative panel 9 is provided with a main drain pan 20 to receive condensate adhered to the heat exchanger 3, and auxiliary drain pans 22 and 24 to receive condensate adhered to the exterior plate of the body 6. Thus, an exterior plate 11 is cooled by means of cold air in the body 6 during cooling, condensate is adhered to the surface of the exterior plate 11, and condensate is also adhered to the heat exchanger 3. The condensate forming on the exterior plate 11 is received by the drain pans 22 and 24 and condensate to the heat exchanger 3 is received by the drain pan 20 to drain it to the outside of a building. |
