The display stand consists of a support (1) made up of a base (2) and an upright (3). On each side of the top end of the upright (3) are two opposite-facing, coaxial facings supporting two cylindrical sections (4). The outer circular surface of each cylindrical section (4) has a diametrical groove in for one of the arms (6) of a bracket (5) onto which the article, such as shoe or pair of spectacles, is hooked.
