<p>The dynamo has a shell of varying diameter, with a driven milled wheel driving the rotor at the upper end and an electrical output terminal at the lower. A coupling allows a restricted range of movement of the dynamo relative to its mounting point, permitting the driven wheel to be engaged with the tyre or to be free. The coupling comprises, two parts, one of which is a moulded plastic block (21) secured to the dynamo shell. The second part is an 'L' section steel plate (22) the vertical arm of which is a half cylinder which is moved vertically against a helical spring within the plastic block compressing it against a locking piece.</p> |
