PURPOSE:To enable industrial process management for the measurement of fluid refractive index, by measuring the absolute amount of light of reflection light in the light transmittable material in contact with the fluid. CONSTITUTION:The photo-sensitive element 6 consisting of the light emitting diode 2 being the light source and phototransistor 3 is assembled to the light transmittable material 3 consisting of glass and acrylic resin via the support 1, and the light reflection mirror 8 is fitted to the interface 5 with measured fluid 4 in an angle of 90 deg.. Thus, when the fitting side of the photo reflection mirror 8 of the light transmittable material 3 is immersed in the measured fluid 4, the incident light L from the light emitting diode 2 is incident to the interface 5, a part is incident in the fluid 4 as the refrraction light L2, the remains are the reflection light L2 through reflection and received to the photo-sensitive element 6 at the total reflection on the light reflection mirror 8, and the electric signal corresponding to the amount of light reception formed is fed to the measuring section 7, the value corresponding to the absolute amount of light received is displayed and the refractive index of the fluid 4 is measured. |
