(A) Compds. - (I) If W = H, Z = alkanoyl, opt. subst. aroyl, CN, alkoxy, alkylthio, aryloxy, carbalkoxy, carbobenzoxy, carbamoyl, benzoyloxy, carbophenoxy, carbo-t-butoxy, alkyl-sulphonyl, N-phthalimido, N-succinimido, N,N-dialkylcarbamoyl, or - if W = carbalkoxy, Z = carbalkoxy, if W = Ph, Z = PhCO- or -CNO, and if W = 1.alkyl, Z = 1.alkanoyl; or W and Z together = a (4-8C)-2 oxocycloalkyl residue. - (B) Acid addn. salts of (I) - Penicillin and cephalosporin intermediates.
