1376930 Solid waste material treatment BLACK CLAWSON FIBRECLAIM Inc 7 Dec 1971 [18 Dec 1970] 56855/71 Heading C1K [Also in Division C5] Solid waste materials and aqueous liquid are (1) deposited in a treatment vessel, (2) subjected to shear forces of sufficient magnitude to reduce relatively frangible organic and inorganic solids in the waste materials to a predetermined particle size, (3) the reduced relatively frangible organic and inorganic solids together with some liquid being removed from the treatment vessel in slurry form, (4) from which the inorganic solids are next removed and (5) then a substantial portion of the liquid, (6) the organic (sitereduced) solids being either pyrolysed by heating in the absence of O 2 or hydrogenated by heating at a pressure greater than atmospheric in either H 2 or CO and water, (7) Relatively infrangible solids are removed separately from the treatment vessel. Cellulosic components may be separated off from the frangible organic solids. The combustible products of the hydrogenation step or pyrolysis step may be returned to the system for heating. |
