PURPOSE:To control the breeding of denitrifying bacteria bodies and conduct denitrifying treatment efficiently, by a method wherein organic carbon sources are injected to denitrifying processes arranged in series while their quantities are adjusted when oxide-type nitrogen is removed from waste water by utilizing the denitrifying bacteria adhering to media. CONSTITUTION:In a denitrifying treatment system where a plurality of denitrifying processes ar connected in series, organic carbon sources are injected in each denitrifying process in such a manner that quantitites surficient for the growth of respective denitrifying bacteria denitrifying bacteria are alternately repeated. That is, the denitrifying bacteria grown on media by a denitrifying reaction using methanol an external respiration type denitrifying reaction) are subjected to a denitrifying reaction using a reduced amount of methanol, i.e. using constitutents of the denitrifying bacteria themselves as reductants (an internal respiration type denitrifying reaction) to reduce the amount of excessive denitrifying bacteria grown on media and the denitrifying bacteria are grown again by the denitrifying reaction using methanol. Thus, since the quantities of the denitrifying bacteria of the whole processes are held in a fixed quantity, denitrifying treatment is extremely facilitated without extracting bacteria bodies from the denitrifying processes and separating the bacteria bodies from the media.
|
