Agent for treating hyper:keratotic skin diseases - contains undecylenic acid pref. in combination with ascorbic acid

A topical, oral or parenteral agent for therapy of hyperkeratotic diseases of the skin or of changes in the joint caps and the joints, esp. the terminal joints of fingers and toes, contains undecylenic acid (I) or its derivs. as active ingredient. (I) increases keratinisation. Its effectivity can be compared to that of the corticoids. (I) also have clear antimicrobial properties which can be further increased by combination with fatty acids and by keeping the pH low. (I) has beneficial effects on the skin and reduce deficiency symptoms of defective metabolism. (I) improves psiorasis of the nails.
