Diesters having the formula
ROOC(CnH2n)COOR min
where R is a benzyl or alkylbenzyl group, R min is an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic group or a benzyl or alkylbenzyl group, and n has a value of from 1 to 10, are useful as solvents for colour-formers which are derivatives of diphenylmethanol or diphenylmethylamine in pressure-sensitive mark-recording systems.
