PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an error that is caused by the use of plural images and to easily obtain a surface image of an object plane by correcting the geometric distortion of a plane area of the surface image via the perspective conversion and in response to the distance set between a photographing position and an object, the focal distance set in a shooting mode and the shape and size of the object. SOLUTION: The images obtained by photographing the peripheral areas from the same spot by means of a panoramic image photographing device 102 are read into a computer 100, and the geometric shape information on an object, the positional relation of a camera and the camera lens information are read out of a storage 103. A means 130 which extracts an area, i.e., the surface of the object from a panoramic image and the geometric shape information on the object calculates an area included in the panoramic image, the positional relation between the object plane and the camera and the camera lens information and gives the geometric correction to the calculated area to turn it into a back image of the object plane. Then an area is calculated in a surface image of the photographed object, and the object information, the surface image and the object image area are associated with each other and stored in the storage 103. |
