<p>PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction in size of a photo coupler by disposing a semiconductor light emitting element and a photodetector on the same plane, and coupling them through an optical prism. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element chip 4 and a photodetector chip 5 are disposed on a same plane. When a light 10 from the light emitting surface 8 of a light emitting element chip 4 is introduced through a prism 11 into the light receiving surface 9 of the chip 5, and then both elements are optically coupled, a packaging space is remarkably reduced in size.</p> |
