Inspection jig for billet guide track in continuous casting plant - for measuring dimensional width of track prior to casting

The jig is lowered by a chain into the guide and support roll track to measure the width of the track which determines the width of the cast billet or slab. The jig consists of a frame fitted on each side with pairs of centering rolls; and at least one roll on each side of the jig can be reversibly driven. Between each pair of rolls is a measuring sensor feeding signals either by cable or radio to display or recording appts. The jig frame also carries work cylinders, which push anvils against the rolls in the billet guide track to locate the jig.
