<p>1,205,711. Liquid detergent compositions. UNILEVER Ltd. 24 Jan., 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 3736/68. Heading C5D. A substantially non-aqueous built liquid detergent composition comprises 20-90% by weight of one or more liquid detergent active materials, 1-70% of one or more anhydrous inorganic builder salts and 0.1 to 10% of an inorganic carrier material which has a particle size of 1-100 mÁ, a bulk density of 10-180 g/l. and an average surface area of 50-500 m2/g. The carrier may be silica, alumina, magnesia and/or ferric oxide. Preferred detergent active materials are non- ionic detergents obtained by introducing watersolubilizing polyoxyalkylene groups into alkyl phenols, aliphatic alcohols, carboxylic acids and polyoxyalkylenes, to give molecular weights of about 300-11,000. The detergent active material may also be a mixture of non-ionic detergent active materials or a mixture of a non-ionic detergent active material with one or more other detergent active materials, such as anionic, cationic and ampholytic detergent active materials and soap, provided that the final composition is a liquid. Specified builders are anhydrous alkali metal poly-, pyro- and meta-phosphates, silicates, borates, carbonates and sulphates. Bleaching agents such as sodium perborate, percarbonates, and persulphates may also be added. Also up to 10% of a thinning agent may be added to reduce the viscosity, such as ethyl alcohol, hexane, heptane, benzene, xylene, toluene, cyclohexane, tetrahydrofuran, dimethyl sulphoxide, or dimethyl formamide. Additional ingredients which may be present are enzymes, colouring agents, fluorescers, bleaching agent precursors, bleaching agent stabilizers, perfumes, bactericides, soil-suspending agents, sequestering agents and hydrotropes (e.g. sodium toluene sulphonate or sodium xylene sulphonate).</p> |
