PURPOSE:The titled cosmetic, capable of protecting the hair and scalp, having improved physiological properties without corroding the bows of glasses, and comprising a specific liquid branched chain saturated higher aliphatic polyol, a saturated lower aliphatic monohydric alcohol and water. CONSTITUTION:A liquid hair cosmetic comprising (A) preferably 5-30wt% a liquid branched chain saturated higher aliphatic polyol, e.g. 2-methyl-1,2-nonanediol, of formula I [R is CH3- CH2 m+2 or formula II; R' is H or CH3; R'' is CH3-(CH2)n; A, B, D and E are Hs or OHs, and 2 or 3 OHs are present at the same time; n is 0 or 1], (B) 25-60wt% a saturated lower aliphatic monohydric alcohol, e.g. ethyl alcohol, and (C) preferably 10-60wt% water. The cosmetic is useful as a hair liquid, hair conditioner or hair tonic. |
