The heat recuperation structure for an open hearth can be interconnected with the water circulation system for central heating. The hearth may be brick built and partly enclosed by sheet metal panels (10) with a grate above floor level and an ash door (16) for access to the space below. The heat recuperation structure has a set of parallel water circulating tubes (11) with horizontal runs at grate level connected by runs sloping upwards closer together at the top. The bottom runs join a central header (14) at the bottom, at right angles to them, and the tops join two parallel headers (12) also parallel to the bottom header. The two top tubes house heat collector coils, and are located under a hood (27) with a chimney section (17) on top, containing a damper flap. Tiles (15) cover the lower tube runs forming the grate.
|
