PURPOSE:To obtain a small-size discharge lamp which can be easily manufactured and also is excellent in the quantity of light and luminous efficiency by using a system in which the central portion of the bottom of an anodic metal cap is made higher than the portion in contact with a cushion ring part and a discharge is produced between the high-leveled portion and a carthodic part. CONSTITUTION:The projected portion at the central part 5a of the bottom of the anodic metal cap 5 composed of an alloy containing iron, nickel, and cobalt has a height H and also the depth of the cap 5 is approx. l3. Also, the cushion ring 15, made of a soft metal, e. g., indium, lead, tin, etc., is formed into O-ring and used for air-tight sealing. The anodic metal cap 5 and the glass bulb 6 are slightly pressed close to each other and the adhesive 8 is filled or flowed into between the cap 5 and the outer side 6a of the bulb 6 to fix both together. Thus, an extra-small size flash discharge lamp which is excellent in the quantity of light and luminous efficiency can be obtained. |
