PURPOSE:To make possible the removal of foreign matter from the used toner by applying an electric field between a capturing roller and a receiving roller and selectively scattering the used toner on the capturing roller to the receiving roller. CONSTITUTION:A capturing roller 1 and a receiving roller 2 are disposed and a DC electric power source 4 is connected. The spent toner falls onto a duct 9 and is accumulated on the roller 1. When DC voltage is applied between the rollers 1 and 2, the toner charged negative causes a scattering phenomenon and sticks on the peripheral surface of the roller 2. The coarse and fine power toners are suppressed of scattering. The most of the dusts such as paper dusts are larger than ordinary toner grain sizes 7-15mu. It is possible to scatter the reusable toner selectively to the roller and recover the same by controlling the layer thickness of the toner on the roller 1, the spacing between the rollers 1, 2 and the applied voltage. |
