<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the dependability of a display element by forming a double layer consisting of an epoxy resin film and a polyimide type polymer film on the surface of an electrically conductive film of the device so that the polyimide film contacts to a liq. crystal. CONSTITUTION:The surface of at least one of electrodes for a display device is covered with an epoxy resin layer, and a polyimide type polymer film is liad on the layer at a side contacting to a liq. crystal layer to form a double-layered insulating film. Two electrode substrates are polished by a known means in one direction and superposed through an org. sealant placed around the electrode surface thus treated so that the polished directions intersect at right angles, and after injecting a liq. crystal they are sealed. Thus, no induced domain is generated, and the resulting device has superior endurance to long-time electrification, high temp. and high humidity.</p> |
