<p>Improved cooling of rectifier diodes for a.c. generators of vehicles is achieved by placing the diodes (5a,5b) on both sides of good conducting surfaces (7a,7b). The assembly of the semiconductor diodes is held by cooling plates (6a,6b,6c) and the two end contact areas of the diodes form a contracted section of the semiconductor (8) with projections (9a,9b) soldered to the cooling plates. The set of these rectifiers provides a compact unit minimising the number of interconnections required, since the cooling plates provide the link to the diodes.</p> |
