<p>The mechanism lifts a bed-frame into position for cleaning, being particularly for disinfection in hospital. It comprises a hoist on a stationary mounting above the bed-frame (10) and incorporating a ram (11). A grab (12) engaging with the bed-frame is fixed to the piston rod (11b) working in the ram cylinder. The ram can be pneumatically operated, and the hoist can incorporate a universal joint (15) or a ball joint. The grab can comprise a U-shaped stirrup, one arm of which hinges on the piston rod, while the length of the other matches the width of a standard hospital bed.</p> |
