A game for expressing a protein (A) having properties close to those of human interferon, consists of a coding chain and a complementary chain in which the coding chain comprises a specified sequence of 290 codons (289 triplets plus a 3'-terminal CA pair), or a sub-unit or equiv. of this sequence. Also new is a plasmid recombinant consisting of a rector into which such a gene has been inserted, there being upstream of, and adjacent to, the inserted gene a bacterial promotor which controls the gene. Cells, modified by these plasmids and method for producing (A) by cultivation of such cells are also claimed. (A) have antiviral activity. |
