PURPOSE:To make it possible to eliminate the cause of a fault rapidly by sequentially displaying guidance messages, regarding operations to be performed by a customer, on a display unit, by displaying a stand-by indication message when a fault is detected and then by displaying the cause of the fault through the operation of a clerk in charge. CONSTITUTION:The automatic transaction processor with the function of detecting a fault is provided with display unit 55 using CRT and key input unit 56 that a customer operates. On CRT21, an operation guidance picture consisting of operation guidance patterns and operation guidance messages showing the operations that the customer is to perform is read out of message pattern code ROM59 and displayed successively. When a fault of the unit is detected in the process of a transaction, a stand-by indication message is displayed on CRT21 and then when a fault-cause display indication input arrives through clerk in charge operation input unit 29, the cause of the fault is displayed in words on CRT21 while the kind of the transaction, the process of the transaction and input data are displayed. Consequently, the cause of the fault is rapidly removed. |
