A double-twisting machine with pneumatic yarn insertion means for guiding the end of a yarn (Y) taken off a supply bobbin (14) first vertically downwards through a yarn guide passage (51, 151 or 251), yarn tensioning means (16) having components displacable from the yarn path, and a yarn guide passage (19) inside the upper hollow portion of a spindle (4) of a yarn store disc (6), then radially outwards through an interior yarn passage (18) formed in the disc (6) to an outlet (23) at the rim of the disc (6), and finally upwards between the walls of a cylinder (9) surrounding the yarn bobbin (14) and a balloon restricting cylinder (13) to a position (13a) near a winding bobbin.
<??>Compressed air supplied through a self-connecting valve (24) to an air passage (21) inside the lower hollow portion of the spindle (4) issues as an air jet directed outwards through the passage (18) and creates by suction a downward yarn-guiding air flow along the preceding vertical yarn path.
