PURPOSE:To uniform the diameter of picture elements on the recording paper by making the speed of the ink jet particles uniform when they hit the recording paper with the application of the electric field in the direction of accelerating the particles while they are flying. CONSTITUTION:The ink 9 in the ink jet head body 1 is excited with the electrostrictive vibrator 2 and jetted out of the orifice 3. The liquid column thus jetted is separated into ink drops with the charged electrode 4 while being given the electric charge according to the printing information signal. In addition, the ink drops are deflected with the deflection electrodes 6a and 6b so that the information is reproduced on the recording paper 8. As a means of accelerating flying ink drops 9', for example, the shield electrode 10 is provided on the recording surface of the recording paper 8 and the acceleration electrode 11 is provided on the back side. With such an arrangement, the speed of the ink drops when hitting the recording paper 8 is uniformed to obtain the printing image of a high quality without image distortion. |
