The process is used to produce a container comprising a sleeve and a bottom, whose final cross-section is unwound. The sleeve is first wound onto a roughly circular mandrel and then deformed into the desired shape and joined to the base. External shaping tools (20) acting against opposite sides of the circular sleeve are used, pressing it into the desired cross section, and simultaneously acting through the sleeve wall via a set of levers (8,9) on other tools. The latter thrust the sleeve wall outwards in a direction at right angles to that, in which the external tools act. |
