PURPOSE:To increase the video quality of still picture in helical scanning type VTR, by moving the height of the rotary head in a given speed, at still reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The head oscillation unit 13 which oscillates the rotary heads 11, 12 in response to still operation is provided. In this unit 13, the height of the heads 11, 12 is respectively changed in linear operation in the moving speed of Vh=P/Tf (where; P is the track pitch and Tf is field period), and the operation returned to original is taken as unit period, and oscillation is made in synchronizing with the revolution of the head. That is, at still operation, the heads 11, 12 supported with the levers 20, 21 respectively are oscillated with the cam provided under the still control rod 30. Thus, the trace angle of the head is coincided with the slope angle of the track, allowing to obtain the still picture of good quality. |
