Title compd.(I; X = H, C1-3 alkyl, halogen or mitro; R1 = C1-4 alkyl; R2 = C1-6 alkyl, C3-6 cyclic alkyl, C2-4 alkenyl, phenyl, halophenyl or benzyl; R3 = H, C1-12 alkyl, C3-5 alkenyl, C3-5 alkinyl, C3-6 cyclic alkyl), useful as herbicides, were prepd. by reaction of compd. II and R3OH in the with 12.5 ml propargyl alcohol in the presence of NaS to give 6.02 g 2-propinyl-O-(5-isopropyl-5-methyl-4-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl) benzoate.
