The invention provides 2,6-dialkyl-trifluoromethanesulphonanilides and salts thereof, e.g. 4-chloro-2,6-diethyl-trifluoromethanesulphonanilide. The compounds may optionally bear a halogen at the 2,4 or 5-position, and are useful as herbicides. They may be made by alkylating anilines or by bromination when X is 4-bromo. |
