The present invention provides a process for the preparation of azo dyestuffs based upon organosiloxanes and polyorganosiloxanes made up of units of the general formulae: R3SiO1/2, R2SiO and/or RSiO3/2 in which R are the same or different organic radicals, a hydrogen atom or organic radicals containing an azo group, obtained by hydrolysis and condensation of an organochlorosilane or by the reaction of an organosilane, organosiloxane or polyorganosiloxane, wherein a siloxy-substituted aromatic compound is coupled with a diazotised aromatic amine. |
