Vertical travel scaffolding stage conveyor chain - has bottom loop sections forming reserve loops in store with pulleys

The building work scaffolding frame has a raisable working platform borne on telescopic pistons and a continuous conveyor chain passed round this, with horizontal moving carriers attached to it. The bottom loop of the chain (26) passes through a chain store (30), incorporating movable deflecting rollers (32). Within the store the chain revolves alternately round a stationary and movable roller, to form storage loops of variable length. The pref. weighted movable pulleys may be sited lower than the stationary ones, to form vertical storage loops. This ensures that the effective length of the chain is automatically adapted to the height of the platform.
