Heterocyclic cpds. solubilisation - e.g. hydroxy-triamterene hemi:sulphate by melting with urea, nicotinamide and PVF and dissolving melt in water

In a new procedure for bringing heterocyclic cpds. into soln. in an aq. medium, a melt is produced from the heterocyclic cpd. together with urea, nicotinamide and polyvinylpyrrolidone, and the resulting melt is dissolved in water. The method is partic. applicable to the solubilisation of heterocyclic cpds. contg. at least one function which can act as a hydrogen bridge acceptor and at least one function capable of acting as a hydrogen bridge donor. The melt advantageously contains ca. 1-3 (pref. 1.5) wt. parts urea, ca 1-3 (pref. 1.5) wt. parts nicotinamide and ca. 1-3 (pref. 1) wt. parts polyvinylpyrrolidone together with a relatively small amt. of heterocyclic cpd. Used for prodn. of aq. solns. of heterocyclic cpds. such as pesticides or pharmaceuticals (e.g. the potassium-sparing diuretic triamterene.
