Cassette for holding large number of clinical samples - being capable of variety of pretreatment operations before radiation analysis

Multi-purpose holder for reaction or sample tubes is to allow pretreatment of biological experimental material to be analysed by the radio-immuno-assay (RIA) method. The holder is in the form of a rack contg. a large number of sample tubes. It is constructed in such a way that it can be used for a variety of operatios. These include pipetting, shaking and rotating, centrifuging, incubatting, etc. The rack can also beused satisfactorily to transport the samples to the radiation measurement instrument. All the samples can be mounted in the instrument cassette using a single handle on the cassette. Sample tubes are 8-12 mm. dia. and the holes in the cassette cover are 14mm. For use with RIA analytical method, esp. in clinical chemistry and pharmacology. The system allows a large number of samples (50-100) to be moved from one operation to another simultaneously and ensure that each is treated uniformly. All operations are carried out with the sample tubes in the holder.
