A non-leaking clutch slave cylinder has a ring shaped pressure chamber (8) about the clutch shaft (49) with a pressure inlet (10) and a clamped membrane (12). The outside of the membrane is fitted with thrust rods (2) linked to the thrust bearing (3). The hydraulic circuit is totally sealed. No sliding seals are required, reducing fluid losses considerably. The membrane is clamped into the ring shape by a cover plate (1) with the ends rolled over, and with profiled guides (11) in the top surface to guide the thrust rods.
