Reactions of chlorosilanes and methoxysilanes with chlorosiloxanes, methoxysiloxanes and siloxanes

Reactions of chlorosilanes and methoxysilanes with chlorosiloxanes, methoxysiloxanes and siloxanes are carried out in the presence of hydrochloric acid and methanol, without the addition of any catalyst, to provide methoxy-functional polysiloxane intermediate fluids. Improved yields are provided by utilizing the hydrolyzate forms of Me2SiCl2 and MeHSiCl2, respectively, in order to obtain Me2SiO and MeHSiO siloxane units.
