Appts. consists of a box contg. a row of belts made of metal strip resisting heat and corrosion. Each belt is kept under tension by a pair of rollers, and contains a row of sprocket holes so it can be rotated stepwise past a mask fitted in one end of the box. A row of alphanumeric symbols is stamped out of each belt. Belts are driven so a desired row of numbers is aligned with holes in the mask; and a marking paint or ink is sprayed via nozzles through the stamped holes in the belts, which function as templates guiding the paint onto the prod. Belts have a long working life, and can be periodically cleaned. |
