PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finder capable of calculating a range finding value by one transformation expression based on integration results by keeping an integration time constant, even when changing a period for each integration and the number of integration times in an integration circuit. SOLUTION: When the luminance of external light is comparatively high, the period for each integration in the integration circuit 15 is set at 26μsecs, the light-emitting period of an IRED 4 is set at 52μsec, the light-emitting interval of the IRED 4 is set at 360μsecs, and the number of integration times is controlled to be 328 times. When case the luminance of the external light is comparatively low, however, the period for the integration is set at 50μsecs, the light emitting period is set at 76μsecs, the light-emitting interval is controlled to be 526μsecs, and the number of integration times under this condition is controlled to be 170 times. Additionally, the period for the integration is set at 28μsecs, the light-emitting period is set at 54μsecs, the light-emitting interval is controlled to be 374μsecs then, the number of integration times under this condition is to be once. The integration periods in both cases become equal to each other, and the period becomes 8,528μsecs. |
