PURPOSE:To shorten the time of transmission greatly by performing digital conversion of color-difference signals in conversion cycles one sixth those of a luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:Luminance signal Y and color-difference signals I and Q output from color TV camera 11 are digitally converted by A/D converters 121-123 respectively. At this time, signals I and Q are digitally converted by the output of divider 14 in conversion cycles one sixth those of signal Y. Those converted signals are written, screen by screen, in memories 151-153, but the volumes of signals I and Q written in memories 152 and 153 are one sixth that of signal Y. Next, a read mode is set and signal Y is continuously read out from memory 151 as long as three horizontal scanning periods. On the end of this read, signal I is continuously read out from memory 152 as long as three horizontal scan periods and signal Q is also continuously read out from memory 153 as long as three horizontal scan periods. Those read signals are converted by D/A converter 20 into analog signals, which are modulated by modulating circuit 21, whose outputs are sent to reception side 30 and projected on a monitor screen. |
