PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the heat quantity transferred from a transformer to a device body, allow prescribed temperature control and grind a work with good size precision by integrally fixing and fitting the transformer to the side face of the frame of the device body via a heat insulating material. SOLUTION: A transformer 400 is integrally fixed and fitted to the side face of the frame 19 of a surface grinding machine 1. A fixing plate is arranged between the frame 19 and the leg sections of the transformer 400 for fitting the transformer 400 to the frame 19 of the grinding machine body 1. The fixing plate made of a steel sheet is screwed to the frame 19 via one aluminum heat insulating material 801 between the fixing plate and the frame 19 of the grinding machine body 1. L-shaped lock tools 600 fixing the leg sections of the transformer are fixed to the other face of the fixing plate by bolts 500 and nuts via another aluminum heat insulating material 800. The temperature difference between various portions is controlled small, and ultra-precise machining can be applied.
