PURPOSE:To enable the detection of a moving direction as well through a simple construction, by determining the moving direction in terms of the phase difference between the I channel Doppler signal of an I signal based on the frequency of waves reflected from a target and the Q channel signal of a Q signal different in phase by pi/2 from the I signal. CONSTITUTION:An I and a Q signals of reflected wave frequency are produced by the pi/2 phase shifter of a Doppler signal generator 13 on the basis of the frequency of waves transmitted by a CW radar transmitter-receiver 11 and reflected from a target. An I and a Q channel Doppler signals based on beats are applied to a moving speed and direction calculator 19 from phase detectors 15, 16 to which a reference signal is applied. Oh the basis of the phase of the I channel Doppler signal passed through a zero crossing detector 20, a direction detector 23 constituting the calculator 19 detects the phase of the Q channel Doppler signal as information corresponding to the approaching or moving-away of the target to determine the velocity and moving direction of the target through the direction data averaging unit 26 and data processor 27 of a moving velocity and direction determining section 24 etc. |
