<p>PURPOSE:To remove a foul odor effectively and stably for a long term by a method wherein the suspension concentration of powder activated carbon in an alkaline wash liquid is set within a specified range in a deodorizing method of a malodorous gas by means of oxidation by ozone. CONSTITUTION:Gas to be disposed containing malodorous components, such as ammonia, mercaptan, hydrogen sulfied, etc. from a sewage disposal plant, a raw sewage disposal plant, etc. is deodorized in such a manner that ozonized gas is mixed with the gas to be disposed and the gas to be disposed is contacted with an alkaline wash liquid containing powder activated carbon. The suspension concentration of the powder activated carbon in the alkaline wash liquie is set within a range of 0.2-10wt% at that time. When the suspension concentration is set to such value, a catalytic reaction on the surface of the activated carbon can sufficiently be performed, and a foul odor can effectively be removed.</p> |
