PURPOSE:To prevent the stain and wear of the head by means of the protective film so arranged between the thermal head and the thermosensitive paper as to be moved relative to the thermal head at a speed lower than the relative speed between the thermal head and the paper. CONSTITUTION:In a printer designed to print on the thermosensitive paper by heating and driving the thermal head 1, an endless protective tape 6 is provided between the thermal head 1 and the thermosensitive paper in such a manner as to contact the head 1 looped around two guide rollers 22 and 23 and the drive roller 24. The film 6 is set lower in the relative speed with the thermal head 1 than that between the thermosensitive paper and the thermal head. It is made of a heatproof film such as heatproof plastic film. This prevents the wear and the like of the head 1 checking inferior printing quality. |
