PURPOSE:To avoid liquid leakage from a junction face between a positive electrode can and a gasket of a battery and also easily and exactly perform the centering of a positive electrode mixture, by disposing a ring impregnated with a liquid packing between the bottom surface of the positive electrode can and the lower surface of the gasket. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode can 1 and negative electrode terminal plate 2 are fit together via an annular gasket 3. Between the inner bottom surface 5 of said positive electrode can 1 and the lower surface 6 of said gasket 3, there is disposed a ring 4 impregnated with a liquid packing such as asphalt pitch, a polyamide of a fatty acid, wax or the like. The ring 4 has an inner diameter substantially equivalent to the diameter of a positive electrode mixture 8 and an outer diameter approximately equal to the inner diameter of the bottom of said positive electrode can 1. By the above arrangement, it is possible to avoid liquid leakage from the junction face between the positive electrode can 1 and gasket 3 and, moreover, to carry out easily and exactly the centering of the positive electrode mixture upon the assembly of a battery. |
