Road surface impregnation allowing good drainage - involves pressing mesh type matrix into surface before compacting

The impregnation process enhances the drainage capacity due to the rough texture of a road surface. It may alter a geometrical surface consisting of bituminous and/or plastics or cement bonded material. The surface material which is not yet finally consolidated, has a matrix laid on it, and pressed into it, involving contouring and further consolidation. Road rollers can be used to press this in, with or without vibration. Wire mesh can be used as the matrix. This prevents formation of hazardous aquaplaning wet surfaces.
