Mining cutter for symmetric working - has control beam actuated by chain pull swinging tool beam upwards

The mining cutter is designed for unsymmetrical working upwards and downwards. It has a set of cutting tools for downwards working and which are swung up on the chain-hauled body into the shadow of those used for upwards working. They are attached to the body by links, via a swing beam. A control beam (14) is attached to the links (25) supporting the swing beam (23), and is moved for a limited amount in relation to the body (13) by the pull of the chain in order to swing the beam upwards.
