PURPOSE:To perform higher speed recording by controlling an ink supply tank pressurizing means, which pressurizes an ink supply tank at a proper time to increase ink supply force, on the basis of the count value of the number of jetted ink droplets. CONSTITUTION:The ink stored in an ink supply tank 3 is supplied to a printing head 1 through an ink supply tube 2. A control part 5 operates the jetted droplet counting value obtained from jetted droplet count means to judge whether the ink can be sufficiently supplied by a capillary phenomenon and, if the supply of the ink is insufficient, an air pump 4 is operated to apply predetermined pressure to the ink supply tank 3 and the ink is forcibly supplied to the printing head 1. Therefore, even at the time of ink droplet forming frequency at a speed impossible to correspond by ink supply dependent only on a usual capillary phenomenon, the sufficient ink can be supplied to the printing head and a stable printing characteristic is obtained. The jetted droplet count means is easily realized by the microprocessor used in the control of a usual printer. |
