Removing residual solvent from polymer shreds - aq. suspension descends vertical column with injected steam carrying solvent upwards

Residual solvent is removed from polymer shreds in plant with a vertical column contg. the shredder and device to form its aq. suspension steam feed and a number of floors dividing the column into connected vertical sections for the flow of suspension. The shredder and suspension-forming parts are in the top chamber with (at least on one side) an overflow wall inside which is a water inlet pipe and a conventional injector for the shreds. Partic. suitable for synthetic and natural rubber prodn., is of simple design, small dimension, and is easy to operate.
