Safety device for explosive chain - has sliding shutter in rotating projectile which prevents firing with clock until acted on by centrifugal force

The shutter type safety device for a spinning projectile (1). This has a sliding shutter (4) working under the action of a clockwork mechanism. A regulator is mounted on the shutter which is able to slide in a radial seating (3) in the projectile. The release lever (8) and the clockwork mechanism, less the regulator and escapement pinion are mounted on the projectile near the seating. The regulator and escapement pinion (7) are mounted on the slide. The tilting of the release lever and movement of the slide is by centrifugal force.
